Ridle Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the Ridle application ("the app") handles user data. Ridle is an app for tracking cycling workouts. Our default stance is privacy by design: your data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us or to third parties.

1. Data controller

The data controller is Luca Almasio, developer of Ridle. For any privacy-related request you can write to: luca.almas.developer@gmail.com.

2. What data the app handles and where it is stored

All data generated or used by Ridle is stored locally on your device. Ridle does not run its own servers and does not receive a copy of your data. In particular, the app handles:

• Workout data: GPS route, distance, speed, duration, elevation gain, estimated calories, notes, and photos you choose to add.
• Location data: your GPS position, including in the background while recording a ride, to track the route, distance, and speed.
• Health and fitness data: if you grant permission, Ridle reads from Apple Health (HealthKit) the cycling workouts recorded by your Apple Watch — including heart rate and calories — to import them and show you statistics.
• App preferences: settings such as theme, icon, maximum heart rate, and profile, saved locally on your device.

3. Purposes and legal basis

Data is processed solely to provide you with the app's features (workout recording, statistics, goals, trophies, widgets). The legal basis is your consent (for access to location and health data, which you can grant or deny through the system permissions) and the performance of the service you have chosen to use.

4. Health data (HealthKit)

Data read from Apple Health is used only within the app to show you your workouts and statistics. In compliance with Apple's rules:

• we do not use health data for advertising or profiling purposes;
• we do not share health data with third parties;
• we do not use it for data mining;
• Ridle does not write false or inaccurate data to Apple Health.

5. Data sharing and tracking

Ridle does not collect your data externally, does not use analytics or advertising tools, does not track users, and does not share data with third parties for commercial purposes.

6. Optional features

Some features, if you enable them, involve data processing by Apple (not by us):

• iCloud sync (if available and enabled): your workouts can be synced through your private iCloud account, to be available across your devices. The data stays in your iCloud space, managed by Apple according to Apple's Privacy Policy; we have no access to it.
• Weather (if available and enabled): to show you the weather conditions of a ride, your location may be sent to the Apple WeatherKit service. Processing is governed by Apple.
• Subscriptions: any in-app purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. Ridle neither receives nor stores your payment data.

7. Retention and deletion

Data stays on the device for as long as you use the app. You can delete it at any time by removing individual workouts or by uninstalling the app, which removes the local data. Location or health permissions can be revoked from the iOS Settings.

8. Your rights (GDPR)

As a user in the European Union, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data. Since the data is stored solely on your device and under your control, you can exercise these rights directly from the app and from the iOS Settings. For further requests you can contact us at the address indicated above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).

9. Minors

Ridle is not intended for children under 16 and does not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy in the future. Changes will be published on this page with the relevant update date.
